Fiberteq produces the highest quality wet formed fiberglass mat in the roofing industry at its facility in Danville, IL USA and provides this material to roofing mills operated by it owners all over the United States and Canada. The production of fiberglass basis mat is used in roofing materials such as fiberglass shingles and commercial roofing materials.

Fiberteq, LLC is a limited liability corporation (LLC) operated by its two co-owners; Owens-Corning (with International Business Headquartered in Toledo, OH USA) and IKO, Inc. (Family Owned Business Headquartered in Toronto, ON Canada). Fiberteq, LLC is a joint venture company with one plant headquartered in Danville, IL USA.

About 40 years ago, the technology was introduced to make the basis of a roof shingle out of fiberglass. Fiberglass based shingles have an extended lifespan and increased fire resistance. The Danville, IL Mat Line is 16 feet wide and about 200 feet long. From one end of the process to the other end takes less than 10 seconds for the mat to be produced. The initial boiler plate engineering speed of the line was 1200 feet per minute. Today, Fiberteq, LLC averages industry leading line speed greater than 1300 feet per minute, with exceptional quality. The Fiberteq line pumps 80,000 gallons of water a minute, all water is recycled and reused, minus normal evaporation. The process is like a large paper machine, but instead of wood pulp, Fiberteq uses fiberglass strains called Wet Chop. The fiberglass mat output in Danville, IL will provide for more than 3 million standard house shingle roofs per year.
